It’s all about having a blast, and these rhymes will help your children sing, dance, and giggle their way into Halloween fun!

So, gather ‘round and let’s dive into these Halloween-themed nursery rhymes for kids together. Let’s make this Halloween a funtastic celebration that’s full of creativity and joyful moments, moments that the little ones will cherish now and in the years to come, by looking at the pictures that you can take!

The Black Cat’s Silly Hat

Characters: A funny black cat who’s trying on Halloween hats

The black cat wore a wobbly hat,
It wiggled and jiggled, imagine that!
With a flip and a flop, it fell to the floor,
So the cat tried on hats from the costume store!

First a hat with a feather, oh so bright,
But it tickled his nose, and he sneezed with fright!
Next a hat with a pumpkin and a funny face,
But it slipped off his head—what a clumsy case!

Finally, he found a hat, just right,
And purred, “I’m ready for Halloween night!”
So if you see a cat with a hat that’s new,
Give a laugh and say, “Happy Halloween to you!” 🎃

Interactive Tip:

Let your child act out each “hat” moment with their hands or head, pretending they’re the black cat trying on silly hats! For each line, encourage them to make wiggly movements, especially when the cat’s hat “wiggles and jiggles.” As the cat tries on the feathered hat, they can pretend to “sneeze with fright” for a good laugh and ,when the cat finally finds the perfect hat, let them give a cheerful “Happy Halloween to you!” to bring the rhyme to life with joy and laughter!

The Witch in the Night

Characters: A spooky (but friendly) witch and her trusty broomstick

In the dark night sky, the witch flies high,
With a twinkle in her eye, up she goes—oh my!
Her broomstick’s fast, her cackle’s loud,
Zooming past stars and through the clouds.

“Boo!” she calls, with a little wink,
As she soars over rooftops in a blink!
She stirs her cauldron with a spooky song,
And dances around as she hums along.

When Halloween’s here, and the moon’s so bright,
Look out for the witch, just in sight!
But don’t be scared, she’s just having fun,
Flying and laughing till the night is done! 🌙

Interactive Tip:

Bring the witchy magic to life by letting your child pretend to “fly” on an imaginary broomstick around the room! They can even make a broomstick of their own if you have some stick in the house, or some cardboard and some toilet paper: simply glue the toilet paper to the stick/rolled cardboard and, voila, you have a broomstick!

You could also encourage them to make flying motions with their arms stretched out like a plane and, when you reach the part where the witch says “Boo!”, have them pause and say it in their spookiest witch voice.

For extra fun, everyone can join in with a big “witchy cackle” at the end, and then spin around like they’re stirring a cauldron. You could also use a toy for stirring, or just a stick, maybe the stick from the broomstick. This will give a playful thrill and make them feel like they’re part of the witch’s Halloween adventure!

Halloween Night is Here

Characters: Halloween characters like skeletons, pumpkins, ghosts, spiders, and bats

Halloween night is here at last,
The skeletons dance, they’re having a blast!
The pumpkins glow, with faces bright,
Guiding all through the Halloween night.

Little ghosts float, oh so light,
Whispering “boo” as they drift out of sight.
Spiders spin webs and sway in the breeze,
While bats fly high above the trees.

So gather around, it’s Halloween fun,
With treats, tricks, and laughter for everyone!
Let’s shout “Happy Halloween!” so clear,
And fill the night with Halloween cheer! 👻

Interactive Tip:

Turn your room into a Halloween stage with this rhyme! Encourage kids to act out each character in the rhyme, as follows: they can dance like skeletons, pretending to make “clacking” sounds with their arms and legs. Then, they can use their hands to make a glowing gesture for pumpkins or drift lightly around the room like little ghosts saying “boo” in a whisper, or outload, whatever they will like doing. After all, it’s supposed to be fun for them so they can choose how to adapt it. Finally, have them make “flapping” motions with their arms like bats and, after each verse, everyone can come together for a big “Happy Halloween!” to finish with Halloween cheer!
